Catch up on our APCM and Vision Evening

It was great to gather together for our APCM and Vision Evening on Sunday.

If you missed the evening, not to worry, here is a quick recap!

In our Annual Parishioners' Meeting we elected Rachele Newman as Church Warden to work alongside Phil Moss.

In our Annual Parochial Church Meeting we thanked Doug Wakeling, Ben Heptinstall, Rob Swindell, James Pritchard, Becky Moss, Hannah Stanley, Grant Stanley, Gary Sankey and Barry Toward who stepped down from the PCC.

We thanked Frances Tyson who has now fully retired for the extraordinary gift she has been to the church over the years. We also thanked Pete Marston for his work as Church Warden, which for the last 18 months has also seen him serving as Treasurer. He is standing down as Church Warden to focus on the role of Treasurer. We thanked Jude Atcherley who has stood down from the role of Safeguarding Officer and Becky Proctor for serving as PCC secretary for the last 4 years. Andy King has volunteered to take on the Safeguarding Officer role and Daisy Chan took over as PCC Secretary at the start of 2023.

We then continued with reports from our PCC Secretary (Becky Proctor gave this report on 2022), Safeguarding Officer (Andy King), Treasurer (Pete Marston) and the Chairs of our Employment group (Polly Cross) and Fabric group (John Parker on behalf of David Tozer). Please click on the title of each group to read their presentations.

Our Vision Evening began with an update from Penny Cox as outgoing warden, on the new Associate Vicar role which will be filled by Sarah Archer. We heard Sarah's journey of discernment (which you can watch here) and Penny explained the process that the PCC (with the exclusion of Mike) and Bishop Debbie have been through to appoint her into this role. Read more about this process in the Letter from the Wardens here.

Mike shared that we have been chosen as one of 14 churches across the country to become a Youth Minster and he explained that the youth work that Tim Taylor and his team have built and the way they are resourcing other youth groups across the city is the blueprint on which the minster model is based.

We heard some testimonies from our Campus Missionaries and celebrated the baptisms that have taken place over the last year.

In the "Way Ahead" part of the evening Mike shared our focus for the coming year in each of the areas of our discipleship process - Encountering GodGrowing Together and Seeking the Kingdom. Have a look at Mike's presentation by clicking here.

We hope that you feel as excited as we do for all that God is doing and all that He has planned for this coming year.
