Heavenly Father, we bring to you our care homes: Brookvale House, St Anne’s Nursing Home, Greensleeves, Lawn Brook, Mayflower Court, Buttercup House, Sunrise, Shaftesbury Rest Home, Wilton Manor and Poplars.

We commit into your loving hands the residents, many of whom will be feeling sad, lonely and confused at this time. They may have a sense of abandonment as their loved ones are unable to visit. We pray that those who are sick or dying may have all the support and attention they need.

We pray for the staff who are likely to be more overstretched than usual, especially if colleagues are absent because they are self isolating. Please give them an extra capacity for compassion at this time and the stamina to do all that is asked of them.

We pray that food supplies may reach all the homes without hassle and that supermarkets will recognise that adequate quantities are necessary.

We commend to you the relatives and friends who would normally be visiting their loved ones. Please comfort them in their sense of loss and take away any sense of guilt they may be feeling.

We remember that the risen Jesus passed through locked doors to be with His frightened friends and bring them peace, so we ask now for an awareness of God’s love and peace for all associated with our care homes.
