Discipleship Year

A year learning and growing as a follower of Jesus

In a nutshell, the Discipleship Year is about growing as disciples of Jesus, learning how to serve him and his Kingdom with the whole of your life, for the whole of your life. It will take you on a life-changing journey of discovery and adventure, where you’ll be inspired, get practical Kingdom experience, make life-long friendships, and have a lot of fun in the process!

It’s a program for 18-24 year-olds who are keen to give time to explore more about themselves, about working in and for a church and, most importantly, about Jesus – what it means to be one of His passionate disciples and how to get more involved with the work of His Kingdom.

A typical week will involve working alongside members of the staff team (approx 12 hours) in a specific ministry area or combination of areas.  These include adult discipleship, children's work, schools' work, youth work, student work, media and communications, older people’s ministry and worship.

Our teaching day is each Tuesday of term-time which starts with worship and prayer and then moves on to quality teaching from local speakers and members of the staff team.
