Socials are a chance for us to have fun, build friendships and create space for young people to get to know one another outside of our usual YTH gatherings.

Our socials can look very different from one another. Sometimes they happen at Highfield, with activities such as Nerf Wars, film nights, silent discos or a Christmas meal. At other times we head out together for activities such as laser tag, bowling or a games arcade. We are always happy to take suggestions from our youth as to what they want to do and where possible we try to make this happen.

Whatever we are doing, the aim is the same: to create a welcoming environment where friendships can grow, and young people can feel that they belong. Socials are also a great opportunity to invite friends who may not normally come to YTH, giving them an easy and relaxed way to get connected.

While the focus may be on having fun, we know that some of the most important relationships in YTH are built in these informal moments. We want our socials to be places where young people can be themselves, have fun and build the friendships that help them feel part of the YTH community.

Please know that if there is ever a cost to these nights (normally when off site) we try and keep this to a minimum and there is always help if needed. We never want the cost of a social stopping your young person(s) from being able to come.
