Small Groups
They give young people the opportunity to be known, build friendships, ask honest questions and explore what it means to follow Jesus alongside others. Each group spends time looking at the theme for the term, discussing it together, then spending time praying for each other.
Our hope is that every young person has a group where they feel they belong, can be themselves and are continually encouraged to become more like Jesus. We want all our young people to feel they are cared for and supported in and through all that life can sometimes throw at us . Where possible, each small group has at least one consistent leader as we think this is important in building a trusting relationship between leader and young person. We know that when a young person knows their leader they are more likely to seek wisdom, be honest about their struggles and ask for help when needed.
Our year 7 and 8s are normally a mixed group, with year 9-13s normally split by year group and gender. This isn’t set in stone and if your young person is only friends with others from a different year group, we try to make exceptions where we can.
